It all started in 2009: Mariann Lammerskitten and Zimi Kesselring, both ladies tailors, were looking for a way to sell their TOKUSHUU, the newly interpreted Holzzoggeli.
However, the TOKUSHUU label was too small for a shop of their own and the opportunity to rent the shop at Gerechtigkeitsgasse 53 was tempting, so that the two looked for other labels with similar values - freely following the motto "Together we are stronger". Labels with similar values such as quality and consistency, sustainability and love for the craft. These values still apply today as they did then, now without Zimi Kesselring, Mariann and her team are always on the lookout for exciting new fashion labels.
Thus TOKU offers an exciting platform for Swiss designers. This can be for very small labels with hand-stitched individual pieces, up to large, established names with several collections per year.
I was a customer of the first hour and I stayed! The pieces I have bought over the years from TOKU are all still hanging in my closet and are real "hardworkers" - they always accompany me.
I am also particularly pleased that I can always enjoy the aperitif of my fashion stroll in the studio of Mariann and her team. This is of course an experience for the participants. You don't get to see the great products but also a rustic old town space from the inside.
On October 31st, the TOKU team will pop the corks for the 10th anniversary. Come by and party from 18.00! I'll be there. And also the makers behind the labels of Toku. From 29 to 31 October there will also be 10% on the entire range.
